Concordia’s 141st Annual Summer Festival: Fun for the Whole Family

What had sunshine, great music, delicious food, a worship service, free activities for kids, a car cruise and plenty of smiles? Concordia’s 141st Summer Festival! We had an amazing day thanks to our dedicated team at Concordia at Cabot, with well over 1,000 in attendance. (Read more for photos)

The day kicked off with the kitchen opening to serve excellent meals from our summer picnic-themed menu, and our kids’ activities and mini fishing derby at the pond behind the Lund Care Center were a huge hit as always.

The Mikey Dee Band brought down the house with a variety of everyone’s favorite tunes, and over 30 classic cars and tractors were on campus for a car cruise.

Concordia Chaplain Rev. Duane Voorman was the guest preacher for our traditional worship service, and he delivered a moving message about the Parable of the Good Samaritan. The Pittsburgh Lutheran Chorus, comprised of singers from Concordia’s member churches, opened and closed the service.

At the end of such a great day, Concordia President & CEO Keith Frndak thanked our volunteers, community, staff and board members for their continued support, and asked for prayers as Concordia continues to grow to meet the needs of our residents, patients, families and communities.

Even though Summer Festival celebrations have wrapped up at Concordia, there’s ALWAYS something fun happening around Concordia. Head to the events page of our website to see what’s coming up next, and visit the care levels and services page to learn more about our healthcare services, including assisted living, skilled nursing and retirement living (just to name a few).
